Max's Highway Diner

Amazing .. we came at closing time and they welcomed us with smiles and told us to take our time. The food was delicious and service was above and beyond!!! Thanks Rita & Willy for making us feel at home!

50's diner with fun decor! Classic gas pumps and vintage oil signs. Plenty of food for the money!

Ate here on 2-11-20 at 8pm. The diner was nice and clean with a neat 50's vibe. Definitely one of the better places I've eaten in a while. My steak was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The french toast was pretty dang tasty too. Customer service from my waitress was outstanding. Thank you. I'll definitely be returning :)

Cool place to stop and have some decently healthy food. Highly suggest sticking to the salad bar if you've been sitting in a vehicle inactive for 8 hours.

Came here because we are staying at the hotel. They have a cute little boutique area when you walk in with some reasonable prices. The decor is really cool in the restaurant, so much to look at! Our server was Brandon and he was very attentive. I got a bowl of loaded potato soup it was very good! My boyfriend got a taco salad and said it was also(. I don't know why but the water here tastes so good!! Would've gave 5 stars but the floor was a little dirty. But it is at a truck stop so.. 🤷‍♀️ For only what seems to be our server working he's doing a great job! Thanks for a great meal!!*update ate here for breakfast. Food really good. Service not.

Amazing place to dine, food is fantastic and the service is welcoming. Great way to relax after a long day on the road.Pricing is a steal, buffet is well layed out. Place is clean and it's a flash back in the past!

A little slow to get seated but the service was great after that and the food was good!

Wasn't anything much since it seemed like just a truck stop, but the food was very very good. Clearly made fresh with real ingredients. Also the people were very nice.

First time eating here, philly cheesesteak mac n cheese bake is delicious.

Food and service are great. Definitely recommend eating here!! Hopefully this place will stay around for a long time, it'd be a real shame to lose this restaurant because the only other food option here is Subway. And I'm not a big fan of Subway. The food is pricey but with it in my opinion.

Food was pretty good, a change to the norm while over the road. The philly steak mac&cheese was pretty good, garlic bread was great! I'm sure they don't get too many ice cream sundae orders to go, but it would be nice if it were in a plastic boat with a lid, not a styrofoam cup, just didn't feel the same or the same quantity.Staff was great, extremely friendly and attentive. The decor was pretty cool too. Definitely try them out, but go to their website for the NEW updated menu, or you will be wanting something they don't carry anymore.We definitely will be back when the opportunity arises. 😁

Good food for reasonable price. Usually very friendly servers but we got a sour apple today. Don't know what was her problem but she was pretty snippy with us and we noticed it was3nt just us!! AND it wasn't all that busy when we were there. She won't last long there!

Great place to eat in the middle of nowhere in Nebraska! Sausage gravy and biscuits was fantastic, tasted like mom just made it. Waitress was great, helpful, and very funny. Nostalgic place, lots to look at while you're eating. Cool place!

One of the BEST places to have to be shut down at cause of the weather... My husband and I have been here all day and probably into tomorrow too. The food is excellent. Chilli is the best I have found on the road... The manager, she has been working the last 13 hours and still never missed a beat. I thanked her for her time and hoped she made it home safe. She sent her staff home, more worried about them then herself... she stayed to serve us truckers. I wish I would have gotten your name.. You were a blessing...I highly HIGHLY recommend this Flying J. The staff in the store was just as great.. We will be stopping back again soon... 😉

Tremendous barbecue grilled chicken salad!

Enjoyed this stopover on our way across I-80. Great Philly cheese steak, burgers, and buffet between the 4 of us. Mary gave us great service.

What a great find!! Food was so good, pulled pork sandwich and brownie skillet for dessert, yum!

Ok so I wish they did split reviews where you could review the service separate from the place. The lady who served me 5 stars. I decided to go with the buffet. It was absolutely horrible. The salad bar was full of brown lettuce. The main dishes section was no different. They had a chicken fried steak that was probably pretty good when it was cooked three days ago. They had some enchilada thing that I'm convinced contained cat food. The friend chicken was dryer then a popcorn fart. I wouldnt recommend this place for anything other then a beverage.

I ordered the philly mac and cheese. The steak was so salty I couldn’t eat it. I picked out the mac and cheese and tried to stomach that. After a bad dinner I was worried what breakfast would be like. I don’t recommend! The gas station food is better

Excellent Service. Food not excellent, but not horrible. The lettuce in the salad could have been fresher not close to wilting. Tomatoes cloud be fresher also but salad was edible. Hamburger steak was suppose to be medium well but cooked well done with no peppers or onions and no gravy go figure. Overall the food was mediocre but still edible. I will be back because the breakfast is to die for. I recommend breakfast but dinner is at your own risk.

The decor is pretty neat. The food was terrible. I wouldn't recommend trying this restaurant anytime soon. Hopefully they can work on their food quality for the customers because it Definitely requires attention!!

Food was absolutely amazing!!! Most definitely will be stopping by again. My husband and I both had the Mac and cheese bake, I had the chicken one and he had the steak one. People were very friendly as well. If your tired of the normal truck stop food and are in the area definitely worth checking this place out!!

Stopped for a quick lunch on our way home. They had a great soup and salad bar as well as a buffet.Good down home cooking at a reasonable price.Our server was attentive, answered our questions and had a great sense of humor!I enjoyed the loaded baked potato soup.

I had the Cobb salad. They also have a buffet.

Let's just say I won't being doing the buffet again. What a joke. At least they have made an attempt but it he buffet and salad bar are truly lacking. I do, however, give 4 stars for staff. .

Liked the decor. Offered a buffet option in addition to fairly diverse menu. Choose buffet and food was pretty good for this type of circumstance. Service was a little slow. Prices pretty much in line with what seems to be the norm for the area.

Great food, service and atmosphere. Half rack of ribs and mixed vegetables. EXCELLENT. Vintage route 66 gas station collection. Go back in time at Max's Diner.

Waited 10 min to get seated.Only 2 waitresses on a sun morning.No orange juice, no chocolate milk. Food took a while.It was good when we got it. Not impressed for the money and service.

Traveling with my son back to his air force base And stopped in for dinner. He got the cajun alfredo, I got the bacon cheese burger. Great food. Hot served in a timely manner. The place was very clean and I would rate a 10 if I could.

As truckers who our vegetarian it is often very hard to find stuff to eat at most truck stops . Sara our server was very helpful with how to order a veggie sandwich minus the hamburger. She even figured out a way to charge us less then the price if it had meat. Sara went above and beyond for us. Great customer service. We will stop here more often in the future when we drive across the country.

My co-driver and I stopped in and both had the steak and eggs breakfast. The entire breakfast was far better than either of us expected, cooked perfectly and full of flavor! I look forward to stopping in here again one day!
